Dear America

"Dear America" is a high-spirited and fast paced musical journey that explores ethnic roots and promotes the value of multi-culturalism in the United States.
<>

It is the story of Aunt Trudy, a survivor of World War II who discovers the precious legacy of freedom and democracy in America during her travels as a musician throughout the United States.

Over the course of her journey, she writes of her great adventures and the people she meets in letters to her young niece, Anya.

Pieced together, her correspondence provides a stunning overview of America, past and present and the roles each ethnic group played in creating the mosaic of our nation.

Each letter is a little story unto itself - sometimes funny, sometimes sad - but always compelling, well informed and conscious of the promise and hope that America offers its citizens.

Beyond presenting the heartbeat of the country through its people and their music, "Dear America" celebrates cultural diversity and the triumph of the human spirit.

Specifically designed for young audiences from K thru 8, "Dear America" is filled with color and motion and provides a very special moment of arts in education and education in the arts for young audiences.
